Desi's Statement on Opposing the Gas Tax

Desi Anderson, Candidate for State Senate in the 46th District has released a statement on the state’s gas tax increase:

“Democrats continue to raise prices of everyday goods on working Illinoisans without any consequences. Springfield Democrats follow the lead of Governor Pritzker and shove legislation through the Assembly that annually raises taxes while also shifting the blame away from their radical party. Families are still struggling to get back to even from the pandemic, and now the state gas tax is expected to hit 41 cents by 2023 after being just 19 cents in 2019. On top of paying some of the highest gas prices in the country, grocery prices continue to rise as we approach an 11% increase since the start of the year. It is time for Democrats, like my opponent Senator Dave Koehler, to repeal the gas tax increase and allow families to keep the money they’ve earned.” - Desi Anderson, Candidate for State Senate in the 46th District
